This is a handbook for anyone out there who is supporting someone they love through abortion.
This handbook was created by the members of The Abortion Project Naarm peer support group. We are a peer support group dedicated to intersectionality and inclusivity as basic tenants of abortion after-care. Abortion and abortion after-care are healthcare, and they should be accessible and safe for anyone who wants or needs them, regardless of their location, income, insurance status, background, sex or gender.
The Abortion Project is underpinned by pro-abortion, pro-choice values. We created this handbook together over several weeks in 2025. The quotes included in this document have been contributed by members of our group who have living experience of abortions.
